šŸ“– 10x Is Easier than 2x By Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy

Topic: Personal Development | Medium: Audible | Rating: 5/5

I have gone deep into the books by these authors. I think their principles are so powerful. Love it!

Summary of the 10x process:

  1. Dramatically expand vision and standards.
  2. Simplifying strategy and focus.
  3. Identifying and removing nonessentials.
  4. Creating mastery in unique areas.
  5. Leading and empowering others that excitedly share your vision.

šŸ“ Three keynotes

šŸ”Ž 1. Time is not the most valuable resource - attention is!

We all have the same amount of time, so it's not necessarily a competitive advantage.

Attention is a finite resource that ebbs and flows. And astronomical results can occur when focusing intensely on one thing at a time.

Work with the "seasons". Actors/athletes are examples of people who have astronomical results/rewards and live differently from everyone else. They have 3 different working days:

(i) Work/performance days.

(ii) Buffer days - plan/learn/study and refine their craft.

(iii) Recharge days - completely relax.

šŸ” 2. Continually make your 20% your new 80%

Drawing from the 80/20 rule, we need to be ruthless in culling the 80%.

The 80% is our comfort zone, but we need to push for the 20% if we want to reach the next level.

When trying to refine your 20% you will be letting go of old work, relationships, etc. and some people won't like or understand it. So be prepared for discomfort and surround yourself with people that fit your vision.

šŸ•ŗ 3. Do what you want

Love this principle! When you have more leverage in the world you get to design your life. That means living in your realm of excellence. Engaging in work you enjoy and where you provide the most value. To live in 'want' is the highest form of existence. No need to justify yourself. As opposed to living in 'need' which is in a scarcity mindset.
