🤝 Learning From Others
Inspired by the book It Doesn’t Have to Be Crazy at Work by Jason Fried et al.
- Note from the book: Work ethic doesn't mean working long hours, always being available, and responding immediately. It means you are someone of their word, takes the time to consider responses, and respect their time and others.
- My thought on immediately responding: I am perplexed by how people can always be immediately available and productive at the same time. There is no such thing as multi-tasking - only task switching. And every time you switch tasks the quality of your output diminishes. You do not need to respond to that message/email right away especially if you're working on your main priorities.
😇 Personal Life Lesson
Inspired by an energy slump which caused me to reflect.
Energy cleanse/check of:
- Expectations - living up to an expectation I think others will like me better for.
- People - who are negative; project their scarcity mindset; and remind you of the old person you've outgrown.
- Goals - being overly ambitious and feeling disappointed for not achieving them. Need to break down some of my goals to make them more realistic and manageable. The aim is continuous progress (the 1 percenters), not perfection.
🌟 Bonus: Practical Health Tip
Inspired from The School of Greatness Podcast: Jessie Inchauspe.
Stabilise glucose spikes by:
- Eating a savory breakfast.
- Vinegar before carbs.
- Vegetables before a meal.
- Movement for 10 minutes after meal.
This will give you more stable energy, prevent crashes, and minimise cravings to binge.
