🗝️ Life Advice

I had dinner with my mum last night and I asked for some life advice. Something she had learned during her life.

She said ...

"Don't compare yourself to others. There is always someone doing better and worse than you. Don't look side to side, look upwards."

This was humbling. Especially as I recall the first-world problems I wallowed in pity about.

My mum lived in poverty and the slums of Manila. How could I ever compare my problems to that? My mum is the epitome of working hard, not complaining, and selflessness. This is where I got my work ethic from. Although she can drive me crazy as mums do (😅) she is also a source of inspiration and strength. Love you Mum! I'm going to crush the next chapter of my life, and this is for you!
