πŸ“– 25 Hours a Day by Nick Bare

Topic: Business & Fitness | Medium: Audible | Rating: 4/5

I am a big Nick Bare fan. One of my most-watched YT channels and he is featured on my motivation board reminding me to go one more. I love how he is a hybrid athlete and CEO. #goals

Three keynotes

1. "Embrace the suck" as part of the process

β€œYou have to respect the process. People often people talk about enjoying the process. That’s easier said than done. Trust me. Sometimes the process is rough, unrelenting, and hard. But you need to respect it. Instead of bitching and complaining – the pre-workout of quitters. Just keep your sights set on your goals and aspirations.” (Bare 2020, ch1)
  • The process will never be "perfect" and without challenge.

2. Problems come with growth

"When things are running smoothly, that worries me. It suggests we aren't pushing hard enough. Problems come with growth. And no problem says to me that we aren't growing. And not growing fills me more with fear than the spectre of the next crisis." (Bare 2020, ch6)
  • Get outside your comfort zone. Expect problems, embrace them. Because growth is on the other side.

3. Go one more

"It never just one thing. Go one more once, keep it up and the next thing you know you've gone one more one thousand times. Then those thousand things turn into ten thousand. And then before you know it you've broken through every barrier you've ever imposed on yourself. People will be amazed at your success. And will want to know your secret. They probably won't believe that it is something so simple as putting in that one extra unit of work. Good, less competition for you." (Bare 2020, ch8)
  • Every extra repetition, minute, action gets you further and further from the person you used to be.
